26 hours to Paris

Some of the photo's I took

For weeks I’d been looking forward to it; 26 hours to Paris! Some cool teachers at my school organized a one-day trip to Paris. Friday at 2.00 AM the bus left from our hometown, and after 6 great hours in the bus (not even a traffic jam! (: ) we arrived at Place de la Rèpublique, a Paris!

From 8.00h till 16.00h we’ve been walking around in the 5th arrondissement, with our teacher telling nice historic stories and giving us information. After this tour we had the change to finally sit down for a while, in an expensive café at Saint Michel. My friends and I were worried about the high prices, but lucky enough our teacher paid! (: After this little break we all got € 17,50 to buy diner. After buying some cliché souvenirs (eifel tower key chains, yesyes!) we choose a cute restaurant at Rue de la Harp. The food wasn’t even that good, but we had such a good time! Since the dessert came straight out of a can, we decided to buy a French crepe and finished with a Starbucks Caramel Macchiato. (Not really cultural, I know. But still so delicious!)

While we were heading back to the bus it started the rain. We finished the day with a beautiful light-tour. We saw the Champs Elycée with Christmas decorations, drove around the Arc de Triomphe and ended with a beautiful light-show on the Tour Eiffel. The rain and blowing wind made this moment even more special. After 20 minutes of photographing we all skipped happily (through the pouring rain!) back to the bus, ready for a 6 hour drive.

Saturday at 4.00 AM we came home, exhausted! Most people used the bus trip to sleep, but I stayed up with my friends all night, haha! I’ve never ever seen, laughed and experienced so much in 26 hours!
