I spend the afternoon on creating this photo, since rain is pouring down outside. What do you think of this photo?

The Trains

If there's one photographer whose work , other than Steve Bloom's,  I really respect and look up to, it's the photography of Steven McCurry. The best man is mostly know for the cover 'Afghan Girl' of the National Geographic that came out in 1985. He was a first in photographing the conflict going on in Afghanistan those days. ("When he emerged, he had rolls of film sewn into his clothes." - The courage that man have!! ) Ever since, McCurry's work has won many awards.

A long time ago I came across a series of his photos taken in India. The public transport in India has absolutely nothing to do with the kind that I know. These photos tell the stories of the trains; its beauty and its madness.

I honestly wish I'll be able to make these kind of honest and expressive photos once. A girl needs something to dream about right? (;

Enjoy these photos, they're magical.

The Nightlights

Click for the photo in high resolution

As I told you guys yesterday, since a week I am the proud owner of a brand new reflex-camera. I've always loved photography and my compact-camera, but this camera gives me so many new possibilities! One of the things is the ability to set the shutter time to a max of 30 seconds. This makes it possible to take those very cool car-night-light photos! Yesterday evening my father and I went out to try it out. I must say I'm pleased with the results!

What do you think?

Flying Asleep

fallingasleepparis

You probably wonder what my last post was about huh? J&A came over and decided to write a guest post on my blog haha! I though it was to cute! (;

The last weekend of my two-month-lasting summer holiday has officially started. Meaning that school starts again next week. hmpf :\. Summer holiday means doing lovely things and having the time of your life. Summer holiday however ALSO means staying in bed as long as your wish! I've wanted to make a fly-in-bed-photo every since I learned how to use photoshop, but this week I finally found the time to make one!

What do you think of this sequal to my other photoshop creations? I'd love to hear what you're thinking right now! (;

Decorative Maps - Interior Design

As you guys know, travelling is one of my great great passions. I also love really anything that has to do with design or interior, and those happen to be a perfect match! Maps can have other functions than just being informative. They can be great decorators, and have the ability to add that little sophistication to a room. (I Think!) Let's have a look to some beautiful examples, I'm seriously thinking about buying such a vintage map!

Oh, and why not listen to this beautiful song while being inspired! (:

Thursday Tumblr Top Ten

Thursday Tumblr top ten, your weekly dose of ocular candy! (: I started this morning with some workouts and running, but I guess I've been a little to  enthusiastic  because I'm so tired now haha! HOWEVER - Tomorrow I'll be shopping in Antwerpen with my sis all day, and only thinking about it makes me feel energetic again!
