The Trains

If there's one photographer whose work , other than Steve Bloom's,  I really respect and look up to, it's the photography of Steven McCurry. The best man is mostly know for the cover 'Afghan Girl' of the National Geographic that came out in 1985. He was a first in photographing the conflict going on in Afghanistan those days. ("When he emerged, he had rolls of film sewn into his clothes." - The courage that man have!! ) Ever since, McCurry's work has won many awards.

A long time ago I came across a series of his photos taken in India. The public transport in India has absolutely nothing to do with the kind that I know. These photos tell the stories of the trains; its beauty and its madness.

I honestly wish I'll be able to make these kind of honest and expressive photos once. A girl needs something to dream about right? (;

The fringe is marchin on

The girl's got bangs!

Jay! Once this idea entered my head, it never left. I had to find the courage to do it, but what's life without a big change every now and then? (: I exchanged -part of- my long blond hair for a fringe! I still feel a little awkward since everybody is literally staring at me, probably thinking; 'Do I know her?' , but I guess people will get used to it soon!

What do you think? Have you ever changed your hairstyle dramatically?

The Nightlights

As I told you guys yesterday, since a week I am the proud owner of a brand new reflex-camera. I've always loved photography and my compact-camera, but this camera gives me so many new possibilities! One of the things is the ability to set the shutter time to a max of 30 seconds. This makes it possible to take those very cool car-night-light photos! Yesterday evening my father and I went out to try it out. I must say I'm pleased with the results!

the New

It's been a while since my last post, however, I'm back! Fresh, new and changed you might say. Fresh? As you've probably noticed already, the blog has a new-self-made header! yay! New? Jup, after saving for what feels like A-G-E-S, I bought my very first reflex camera! Its a Nikon D5100 for the ones interested. (; This major upgrade means that I'll be posting loads of photos, hopefully of a better quality than they used to be! Last but not least; Changed? Oh yeah, let me introduce myself; my name is Christa. Not Lily Catherine? Nope, I just really love that name! (:
