James Rhodes

'Music never let me down' - James Rhodes

I spend the whole day rearranging  and cleaning my bedroom, which could also be called study-avoiding-behaviour! (; I'm really happy with how it turned out, I feel like my room is 10 times bigger as it was this morning haha! However, I ended up spending my whole sunday evening (!) writing a small essay on a Czech museum. (I'll be visiting Prague in two weeks time!)

*TO THE POINT:*

I found this small film a few weeks ago, and I was reminded of it when I playing the piano myself this morning. I think it's such an inspiration story, which you should definitely have a look at! James Rhodes talks about his impressive life, and how lucky he is he ended up as a pianist. I hope this post helps you to get over the fact that weekend is almost over! Enjoy!

Happiness on top

The new single of the Script; Hall of Fame

Have you ever felt like you're  the happiest person in the world? Not just because you've just reveived the newest Ipad or something else material. No. The happiest person in the world because you feel accepted. Because you feel appreciated and because people respect you. Do you ever feel like you want to stop the time right here to enjoy the moment for just a little more time? Just because you're absorbing all kind of fantastic and new experiences, and the rollercoaster of life just won't come to an end? Do you ever feel like you could cry because of happiness, because you realize you've worked it all out pretty well? Have you ever experienced a week in which you fall asleep with a smile on your face every single evening? Have you ever felt like al the failures in your life aren't of any worth anymore?

This is how I feel right now, because the past 5 weeks have been so amazing! I wish I could put a little of this happy feeling in a jar. To give it to the people who deserve it, or to give it to the people who have never felt like this in their whole life.
Just stop for a minute and smile! - Jessie J

Monday Mornings & Music

Mayer Hawthorne - The Walk (Explicit) ft. Rizzle Kicks

Monday mornings, and basically mornings in general, can really be the handicap of the day.  We all have those non-exciting days that  seem to be endless. A good start  can really give you the energy needed to survive. (:

This morning I was all cheerful and lively, I wish every morning was like that! I'll share my Tips&Tops with you to make a good start and get through the day!

--

Start your day with music! Music can solve really any problem. Choose music that gives you energy, or makes you feel good, as alarm. Since a few days I'm totally addicted to this song on the top of this post, it probably made my day this morning. (:

If you play an instrument yourself, play it in the morning! Most of the days I play piano  before leaving for school. Just a few minutes will help you relax and keep your thoughts organized.

 Make sure you pick your outfit and pack your bag the evening before. This saves time, since you don't have to spend  a minimum of an hour in front of the mirror. Trust me, I'm experienced! (;

If you have the first few hours off, go for a run! You'll be happy with yourself, and no matter what the day brings you, you've done something useful already! Oh, and don't forget the extensive shower you've earned!

Plan nice things in your free time. This way you have something to look forward to all day.

Take your time! If you have the habit of having a lack of time in the morning, just set your alarm 10 minutes earlier! These 10 minutes won't make you feel more tired. In stead of running late you'll now be able to enjoy a proper breakfast  Which is really my favourite meal of the day, is that strange? and have a cup of coffee or tea.

Smile! Walk out the door with a huge smile, and never stop smiling. No one likes to be outside in the cold at 7.00 AM, but mornings could be so much more fun when everyone smiled at each other! WheneverI feel shittie a simple smile from a total stranger can really pep me up, why not do the same for others? (:

I'm turning in now, my mother bought me a new mattress so I'll be sleeping like a baby! (: I hope these tips are useful to you. What is your morning therapy?

Alarm Music

My school day started this morning at 8.30h, but only after one forever-taking lesson I decided to go home since I was dying from a real bad stomach ache. It took me longer than normal to get home because of the high wind conditions that had suddenly changed in the wrong direction. When I finally got home I put on some comfortable clothes and made myself une grande tasse de thé. I slept a little, but after 2 hours I couldn’t find any new positions to lie in. I put on some music.

-  and I felt horrible! The CD that was playing was one of my favorites; Science & Faith from the script. That’s not a bad thing at all, the problem was that I had the feeling I had to wake up and go to school. This, because the CD had functioned as my alarm clock for the past few weeks. The music used to give me such a wonderful feeling, and now it had all been ruined. I just couldn’t stand it, so ever since this morning I’ve been playing the CD to remind myself of how much it was NOT my alarm clock. Luckily, after 4 repeats, I can now finally listen to it while enjoying it as much as I used to. Because music of the The Script, is simply the best music in the world!

Isn’t it amazing how music has the capability to give you such special and strong feelings?

Are there any songs that remind you of waking up, because they’ve once been your alarm?

Ron Pope - A drop in the Ocean

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LCBkkSdjEo]

A drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I was praying that you and me might end up together
It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
But I'm holding you closer than most 'cause you are my heaven

I heard this song for the first time in an episode of The Vampire Diaries, from which I'm a huge fan btw! You could actually call me and friend obsessed with it, haha! A drop in the ocean was played in one of my favourite episodes, that's probably one of the reasons why I love the song so much.

I am so happy to hear all the positive reactions on my brand new blog! Today some of my best friends had a look at it, and their reactions were so sweet! I'm definitely going to keep it up this way. (:
